Primitive view of burnt area adjacent to Portsmouth Square; the only identifiable building still standing is the El Dorado. People are wandering about. In the catalogue of the Clifford Collection of California Lettersheets, Dorothy Sloan notes that "Both Henry Clifford and Warren Howell considered this to be an unrecorded pictorial letter sheet, although Baird does not list the Times and Transcript as publisher of any other letter sheets." Not listed in Baird. Clifford Collection 355.
