A vintage issue of 'The Log Cabin', a Whig Party periodical published by famed American newspaper editor Horace Greely, containing the lengthy text of a sermon given by Lewis Cass after learning of the death of President William Henry Harrison, 15.5 x 20. 5 in., New York, June 19, 1841. Cass and Harrison knew each other from their service in the War of 1812 and in the administration of President Andrew Jackson. Harrison died on April 4, 1841 after contracting pneumonia and serving only 31 days as President. Toned with scattered stains, light foxing, a few small tears.
