BROWN, Augustus C.  The Diary of a Line Officer. [New York]: N.p., [1906]. INSCRIBED BY BROWN. Brown enlisted a 1st lieutenant on 23 June 1863 and was commissioned into Battery D of the New York Heavy Artillery on the same day. Promoted to captain on 23 December 1863. --   FOSTER, Alonzo. Reminiscences and Record of the 6th New York V.V. Cavalry.  N.p.: Alonzo Foster, 1892.  Provenance: Wisconsin Historical Society (bookplate, perforation to title, library marks). Foster enlisted on 16 December 1863 as a sergeant and was mustered into Co. F of the 6th New York Cavalry on the same day. Wounded on 26 July 1864 at Deep Bottom Run, VA and discharged on 6 February 1865 at Auger, VA. -- MOWRIS, J.A. A History of the One Hundred and Seventeenth Regiment, N.Y. Volunteers, (Fourth Oneida).  Hartford, CT: Case, Lockwood and Company, 1866. Mowris served as an assistant surgeon. -- EDDY, Richard. History of the Sixtieth Regiment New York State Volunteers.  Philadelphia: By the Author, 1864. Eddy was a chaplain with the 60th New York, enlisting on 22 September 1861, discharged on 17 February 1863. GAR member at posts #4 (U.S. Grant) in Melrose, MA and #141 (Frank D. Hammond) in South Chatham, MA. -- BARTLETT, Edward O. Stephen Guernsey Cook and Charles E. Benton, editors. The "Dutchess County Regiment" (150th Regiment of the New York State Volunteer Infantry) in the Civil War. Danbury, CT: The Danbury Medical Printing Co., 1907. Provenance: Wisconsin Historical Society. -- BEACH, William, H. (1835-1931). The First New York (Lincoln) Cavalry from April 19, 1861 to July 7, 1865.  New York: The Lincoln Cavalry Association, 1902. Enlisted on 19 July 1861 in New York City as a sergeant and was mustered into Co. B of the 1st NY Cavalry on the same day. Promoted extensively to 1st sergeant (3 April 1863), 2nd lieutenant (6 December 1864), 1st lieutenant (30 December 1864), and adjutant (24 May 1865). -- PALMER, Abraham J.
