Raojia Embroidered Baby Carrier, China, Early 20th C. Baby carrier with sections of embroidery separated by narrow rows of piecework in center. Cotton tabby cloth, silk thread; embroidery, piecework. Raojia People, Eastern Guizhou Province, Majiang Area, China. Such pieces are rare due to the small size of this ethnic group (fewer than 10,000 people). Size: 30'' x 49'', (76 x 124 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
