Northern Europe, Viking / Norse culture, ca. 800 to 1100 CE. This is a fascinating piece of jewelry comprised of a Viking era iron forged arrowhead set in a modern sterling bail. The head is an inverted V-shape with petite fins and a lengthy tang for hafting on a wooden arrow shaft, but now capped by a modern silver bail to use as a pendant. This piece is strung on a modern cord with a lobster clasp as a wearable accessory, and has nice signs of age, with a heavy and rich dark brown patina.
