Chinese Ming Dynasty XuanDe Blue and White Peony Porcelain High Bowl With Japanese Wooden Box With Calligraphy and Red Mark. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, thick, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the close mouth rim, raised on high foot base deep concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of Peony flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct.On the rim bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years XuanDe Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
