Description
This lot consists of a mixed media (oil and watercolor) painting on heavy paper, done in the modern style of Frida Kahlo (Mexican, 1907-1954). Handwritten inscription at left side reads, "Frida Kahlo. 1945." This beautifully detailed image portrays the artist herself. A beautiful addition to any modern art collectors' gallery. This framed oval piece measures approximately 16" x 13".
Frida Kahlo (Mexican, 1907-1954) is well known for her self-portraits, which incorporate color and surrealism in a way that is all her own. Her artwork is recognizable for its splendorous color and naive stylization, but holds a depth and a pain that many viewers can truly connect with. Though largely confined in life by her physical ailments, Frida Kahlo was prolific, politically active, and a deeply passionate individual.

Overall very good condition. Image itself remains rich and bold. No tears, stains, creases, or other serious aesthetic damage to make note of. Frame is in "as is" condition. For further detail, please refer to photos.
