This lot consists of a framed oil painting on canvas, done in the Impressionist landscape style of Alfred Sisley (French-British, 1839-1899). Image depicts a warm street scene with deep, bold colors. Reminiscent of a fresh spring day, or a late summer's morning. Hand-painted inscription at lower right corner reads, "Sisley - 1872". This framed piece measures approximately 13" x 16.5".

Alfred Sisley (French-British, 1839-1899) was born to British parents and spent most of his life in France. Upon becoming acquainted with the likes of Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Sisley took to plein-air landscape painting. These collaborations resulted in more colorful and broadly-painted pieces than had previously been seen.
