Description
Completely outside my area of expertise, but certainly cool and genuine. I found it in a general line antique shop in Toledo three weeks ago and rolled the dice. Has classic Spanish lines and good quality Miquelet lock. Appears to me to date circa 1750. Fair condition with some chips in the wood, pitting on the steel, etc... but still appealing. This could be dressed up nicely but I kind of like it just the way it stands. These are the guns used by Barbary Pirates when our US Marines engaged them in the Mediteranean immediately following our Revolutionary War when John Adams built the US Navy into a real force. Opening bid is a gift.
