Description
A rare ancient carved stone head of an idol from Guerro Mexico and the Mezcala culture. Such idols are thought to have evolved from the axe god cult and were originally made from ancient celts. The idol would have been carved around 300 BC to 300 AD, Mexico. The stone measures approximately 3 inches tall. Provenance: Ex Museum of Oddities collection, Metamora , Indiana, part of the permanent exhibit since the 1970/80's.
