**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Judea, Herodian Classic Period, ca. 1st century CE. A nice set of two pottery vessels from the ancient Holy Land. First is a mold-formed pottery oil lamp with curling tendrils along the base, an abstract zoomorphic handle, and intricate, raised linear motifs surrounding the fill hole and wick spout. Second is a wheel-thrown terracotta oil flask with a stable base, a piriform body, and a flared rim. Size (flask): 2.75" W x 6.125" H (7 cm x 15.6 cm); (lamp): 3.75" W x 2.2" H (9.5 cm x 5.6 cm)

Condition
Flask body repaired from several pieces, with chipping and adhesive residue along break lines. Lamp has old chip to face of zoomorphic handle as indicated by smooth surfaces. Both vessels have light encrustations and abrasions. Light earthen deposits throughout.
