Description
Circa 13th-14th century AD A cast bronze belt or strap buckle comprising: a rectangular open plate with serrated forward edge and recess for the tongue; the loop D-shaped with three cast triangular projections to the forward edge; the tongue D-section with square block to the upper face; to the rear edge a rectangular-section bar for attachment to the belt; to the upper faces of the plate and loop, punched-point detailing. Bronze, 56 grams, 62 mm (2 1/2") Property of a Sussex Gentleman; acquired before 1990.
