Description
Circa late 15th-early 16th century AD A cast bronze purse bar with swivelling loop, pierced flanges to the underside; the arms decorated with inlaid silver saltires and fretwork extending across the rear D-shaped central panel, IHS to the front face. Bronze, 85 grams, 15 cm (5 3/4") Ex Barker collection; acquired in the 1970's-1980's. Found on the Thames foreshore.
