Description
Original 4 piece navy blue wool Civil War Union uniform belonging to Col. Calvin A. Craig of the 105th PA Veteran Volunteers Regiment. Uniform is comprised of an overcoat with green silk lining ,Later 7 GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) buttons on front and 6 eagle buttons on cuff a jacket with 4 GAR buttons on front and 5 eagle buttons on cuff (missing one), trousers with powder blue piping down side and red wool sash featuring a tassel on each end. Moth holes tears and staining on items. Also discovered is a box marked personal effects of Col. Calvin A. Craig PA. Vols. Killed 1864. 1 Brass compass. 1 mit comb & fragment of another. 2 Tin spoons C A Craig inscribed in bowl. 2 pocket purses. 2 pocket memorandums, 1 Notebook business data. 1 Globe tobacco tin with partial piece of tobacco. 2 pencils. 1 pen nib. 1 brass inkwell.
