This lot consists of an unframed oil painting on canvas board, done in the style of Birger Sandzen (Swedish-American, 1871-1954). Image depicts a quaint cottage sheltered beneath a lush tree. Deep colors and luxurious strokes of paint add a richness and depth to the piece. Hand-painted inscription at bottom of composition reads, "Birger Sandzen 1921". Overall dimensions approximately 9" x 11.5".

Birger Sandzen (Swedish-American, 1871-1954) is best known for his landscape paintings and was a professor of art in Lindsborg, Kansas.
