HUDSON RIVER VALLEY COUNTRY QUEEN ANNE SIDE CHAIR, yoke-shaped crest rail above a vasiform splat and early woven rush seat, raised on tapered front legs terminating in duck feet, joined by a bulbous-turned front stretcher. Retains an excellent early alligatored dark surface. Circa 1740. 40" HOA, 16 1/2" H seat.
Very good as-found condition, some scatted insect evidence to one rear post.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
