Description
Circa 1800, Charleston, South Carolina. Excellent Chair retaining MESDA label at the inside rail of the back frame. The piece having been carved with excellent precision and is nice and sturdy. Legs are well reeded and tapered ending in a spayed foot. Ash secondary wood sold with wood ID of Harry Alden. For a similar example see P. 775 Fig Nch 15a. Condition
The chairs legs and back are all original without repair. Finish is likely early 20th century. The seat rails have no repair and the frame is nice and sturdy.
