Description
The Hamlyn Concise Guide to American Aircraft of World War II By David Mondey. Was published Hamlyn (London) in 2002. The book is approx 7" x 1" x 9 1/2" and is in a good, used condition with light shelf-wear on the dust-jacket. "This colorful and compact volume provides a useful guide to some 120 aircraft that served with the US Air Force from 1939-45. Some were pre-war aircraft that lasted only a short while into the conflict; others fought on throughout the war, undergoing great modification or even metamorphosis as a result; and finally, there were aircraft developed in the course of hostilities that were just too late to play a significant part. Both combat and non-combat aircraft are covered by text detailing each type's origins, history, and variants, followed by a full technical specification. Additionally, each type is illustrated in color and with a three-view diagram, the more important types also receiving large-scale color treatment."
