Description
This is an excellent fully beaded hide strike-a-lite bag from the Arapaho Native American Indians of the 19th Century. This circa 1890 bag shows thick Great American Bison Buffalo Indian tanned hide construction with all glass trade seed cen beads being sinew sewn in a traditional geometric pattern across both sides of the piece. The beadwork is all period correct and shows colors of greasy blue, chalk white, butterscotch yellow, greasy green, red white hearts with overall well preserved condition with very slight bead loss. The piece shows a small fancy beaded crescent curved top flap, original belt hide tie and long frilly fringe at the base. Measures overall 16”L with top strap and fringe by 4”W.
