Description
Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Kunisada II (1823-1880). From his Genji series, #34 Wakananojo. The prince and his posse out for a walk in the snow. Interesting effect of white, black and gray snowflakes. The guy crouching on the R has a totally useless job ? the prince is a lover, not a fighter. Keep that snow off, boys! Light backing, otherwise fine, totally clean. Not a stain or blemish anywhere. Mica in the black bokashi up top. Published by Tsutaya Kichizo in 1857. Frame size is 15.5in wide x 22.5 in high and print image is 9in wide x 12.5in wide. From the Don LeMasters Collection.
Condition
Professionally framed, triple matted, toning to paper as expected with age, no damage seen.
