Description
Pre-Columbian, El Salvador, Maya territories, Copador style, ca 550 to 900 CE. Quite adorable pottery polychrome bowl decorated with a very nice scene of seated figures (possibly scribes) alternating with seated zoomorphic creatures representing quite attentive dogs. Painted in typical Copador shades of red, orange, black, and tan, the interior with band of pseudo-glyphs and concentric circles. A very attractive example! Size: 8.125" W x 3.25" H (20.6 cm x 8.3 cm)
