Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, El Salvador, Maya, Copador style, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A hand-built and highly-burnished pottery bowl with a round but stable base, a carinated midsection with a singular grooved rib, corseted upper walls, and a deep interior cavity. The interior is colored with a solid layer of orange slip, and the exterior boasts a repeating program of abstract anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures. Size: 6.6" W x 3" H (16.8 cm x 7.6 cm).

Condition
Large area of repair to walls, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and nicks to rim, walls, and base, with fading to original pigmentation, several stable hairline fissures, and light encrustations. Light earthen deposits and manganese blooms throughout.
