Description
Ancient Seas, Lebanon, Haquel, Late Cretaceous period, ca. 100.5 to 93 Million years ago. Wow! This is a wonderful fossilized prehistoric nephropidae of the genus Homarus hakelensis, a direct relative to modern day lobsters! This crustacean is encased within a limestone matrix that has been cut to a rectangular slab. The pincers and eyes are well preserved and demonstrate how similar these prehistoric creatures were to our lobsters today! Size: 7.875" L x .375" W x 4.75" H (20 cm x 1 cm x 12.1 cm)

Leg and antennae pigmented to highlight details. Nice preservations of pincers and body. Some chipping and surface abrasions. Chips and losses to corners and verso of matrix. Partial traces of other fossils on verso.
