Description
Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom Period, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1070 BCE. A intriguing faience stamp seal bead of an oval shape with two flat faces presenting a lion on one side and a hieroglyph inscription on the other. The surface is glazed with a beautiful blue color, highly symbolic of the sacred Nile in Egyptian artistry. The inscription is perhaps a cartouche for Amenhotep III.
