JOHN BURGER, ROCHESTER, NEW YORK ATTRIBUTED DECORATED STONEWARE CROCK, salt-glazed, designated three-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with flat-top, rounded rim, incised shoulder ring, and arched, extruded handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Slip-trailed cobalt flower with leaves decoration and "3". Circa 1875. 10" H, 10 3/4" D rim.
Rim with two shallow chips and two minor flakes to interior, and two shallow chips to exterior at rear and several minor flakes, none of which affect the rim profile.
