Description
Spanish Colonial, probably Mexico, ca. 19th century CE. A skillfully carved pair of wooden stirrups, each with an iron band around its midsection topped by a cylindrical suspension bar. Boasting a surface of golden-tan woodgrain beneath a light burnish, both gorgeous stirrups feature a flat toe that gently curves upwards and are elaborately carved with phytomorphic motifs and dotted patterns in low relief. Size (both the same): 9.5" L x 5.5" W x 7.375" H (24.1 cm x 14 cm x 18.7 cm)

Condition
Three stable fissures to one stirrup. Petite area of loss to base of other stirrup. Surface wear including nicks/chips, abrasions, and scratches commensurate with age and use. Otherwise, very nice with lovely earthen deposits in recessed areas.
