JOHN WEDDA Signed Watercolor Painting, signature to lower left reads ‘John Wedda’, subject a ship and boat, measures 26 x 23 inches, black wooden frame, surface wear to frame, professionally framed and double matted in white, not examined out of frame, Property of White Plains, New York estate, John was born Nov. 4, 1911 in Milwaukee, WI. He grew up in Chicago, then lived in Detroit, New York, Rochester, Tehran, and Salisbury, CT before moving to Pinehurst in 1984. He was a graphics and fine artist, later designing Japanese-style gardens, a number of which are in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. In earlier years, his work was exhibited at varioart museums including the Detroit Institute of Art, New Britain, Whitney, and Chicago. He won numerous awards.
