"Mexico and Guatimala" by Gray & Son, ca. late 19th century. Published by Arch. Full art on & Co. Glasgow. A hand-colored map of Mexico and Guatemala (incorrectly written Guatimala) by Gray and Son, published in the United Kingdom, and set in a custom matte. Size with matte: 12.5" W x 17" H (31.8 cm x 43.2; cm); Size without frame: 9.75" W x 7.75" H (24.8 cm x 19.7 cm)
O. W. Gray was a publishing firm based in Philadelphia. Later, they published as O. W. Gray & Son. They published atlases in the late nineteenth century. Gray's National Atlas was one of the most successful commercial ventures of the 1870s and one of the last to employ hand coloring on maps.
