Caruso the most admired Italian operatic tenor of the early 20th century and one of the first musicians to document his voice on recordings.5” x 6 ½”, two-page, autograph letter signed, “Caruso,” in French, Hotel Knickerbocker, New Yok, January 2, 1915, to Mrs. Jessie Barrskerville. "…Thank you for your lovely gift…. I’m sorry not to be able to accept your invitation for this evening, as I am not feeling well…I send you my best wishes for the new year." Includes the original envelope, addressed by Caruso and a small unsigned photograph.
