Item Details

Description

This lot is about the globe. It's a New York Susquehanna & Western Railroad extended base with nice initials in a rectangular panel. This globe is what might be called a tear-drop because it has a narrow top and then flares out to a bulbous center. It's a standard "tall globe" size measuring 5 1/2" tall. There are two small flakes off the top edge on the seams. I've never seen one like it. It comes with a Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern Company brasstop bellbottom frame with no railroad markings. The frame has pitting and was painted black at some point. This version has the maker's name lightly stamped in the brass top.
