Framed in antique walnut molding with a gilded inset.
Panel size 17 3/4 x 11 7/8" (45.3 x 30.5 cm).

A scenic view of Curecanti Needle along the Gunnison River. In the distance, an old steam engine rounds the bend and heads towards the viewer. The Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (now part of the Union Pacific), ran a narrow-gauge rail "through the Rockies, not around them" starting in the 1870's and used the image of Curecanti Needle as an advertising symbol.
