Johann Gabriel Doppelmayr (1677-1750) was an astronomer, cartographer, and a professor of mathematics at the Aegidien Gymnasium in Nuremberg. He often collaborated with the Johann Baptist Homann and his heirs. Together, they produced a number of atlases including Atlas Coelestis and Selenographica. His charts are well engraved and highly decorative. This fine celestial chart appeared in "Atlas Coelestis."

Condition: Fair condition with extensive repairs along centerfold and replacement at bottom. Original color with full color on side panels and only the stars colored on map.
