William Emmons was an American poet from Boston who wrote the definitive biography of President Martin Van Buren. “The Battle of Bunker Hill’ is a poem written to commemorate the first battle of the American Revolution.
This 1859 edition includes an appendix with an address from the continental congress of May 10th, 1775 to the oppressed people of Ireland, meeting notes of Joseph Warren to Benjamin Franklin and the provincial congress in Watertown, letter to the oppressed inhabitants of Canada, and an extract from the address of the twelve united colonies by their delegates in congress to the inhabitants of Great Britain.
