18th Century Worcester Porcelain Blue Scale Kakiemon Canted Platter. Painted with stylized blooming penies and chrysanthemums in foliage, in rococo shaped cartouches, in central face oval; as reserved on the blue scale ground below slender iron-red band at rim. Underglaze blue pseudo Chinese chop to underside. Worcester, England. Circa 1765. 1 1/2" H. x 13" W. x 9 5/8" D/ Property from the Estate of Arthur Thomson, San Francisco, CA. The platter is in good condition, and rings true. It was never gilded. It is slightly irregularly potted, which is not surprising of dinnerwares of this period.
