Chinese Flambe Glazed Hu Vase. Of pear shape, the four faceted sides rising from a short foot to a quatrefoil rim, set at the shoulders with a pair of square lug handles covered with metal, two opposing main sides decorated with a raised peach-form panel, covered overall with a rich purplish-red glaze with lavender-blue streaks thinning to cream on the edges, the brown-glazed base incised with a six-character mark. {Height: 11 1/2 inches (29.2 cm)}.
