Description
Eric Clapton Gifted Fender Stratocaster Sunburst Guitar Given to Chris Barber in 2005 W/LOA - This incredible piece of blues history is a Fender Stratocaster sunburst guitar which was owned and played by the English "Guitar God", Eric Clapton, made in the early 2000s. According to the accompanying letter of provenance, this guitar was given by Clapton to another iconic English musician, Chris Barber, after Clapton's show at Wintershall Estate on June 11, 2005, at which Barber was a special guest. Eric Clapton was known to favor the Fender Stratocaster guitar throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s, and his famous "Blackie" guitar became the most expensive guitar sold at the time when it was sold for nearly $1 million in 2004. The guitar will come with the letter of provenance from the previous owner, who acquired it in 2008 from Chris Barber, and will be shipped in a protective hard carrying case. This is a wonderful piece of guitar history from one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Eric Clapton is the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has been the recipient of 18 Grammy Awards among his many accolades.
