Description

This Antique Barkers and Kent Staffordshire/Fenton England Pitcher and Wash Basin set with Flowers is in EXCELLENT CONDITION! It does have some crazing (mainly on the basin- see photos) but NO chips, cracks or flea bites. Color is excellent. This is a Large and very pretty English earthenware antique wash basin and pitcher decorated with transferware printed sprays of pink wild roses and green foliage against a sandy background. The bowl is decorated inside and out with groups of roses and along the top with raised scrolls. The paint is so good that you can still feel the raised hand painted flowers. The pitcher has a fancy applied handle and ornate top rim that is decorated with gold trim. The base of the bowl and pitcher is marked with the round Barkers and Kent mark. This trademark was used between 1889 and 1941. Because of the ornate style of this set I would guess most likely the Victorian Period- late 1800's to the very early 1900's. The basin measures approximately 18 1/4" in diameter and is approximately 3 1/4" in depth. The pitcher measures 13 1/2" tall and is approximately 11" deep. This is the most beautiful wash basin and pitcher I have ever offered for sale. It will be a treasured item in your home and a great item to pass on to the family. NOTE the darker colored pictures are a little more true to actual color- it really is somewhere in between the two colors.
