This lot consists of an unframed offset lithograph on paper, done in the contemporary style of street artist Banksy (British, 1974 -). An art show poster for Banksy's surprise museum takeover exhibit, titled "Banksy vs Bristol Museum" (2009). Image depicts Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, with a speech bubble next to her that reads, "I don't think we're on canvas anymore..." Done in the contemporary pop art style for which Banksy is so well known. This unique piece would make a great addition to any contemporary art collection. Approximate overall dimensions are 23.25" x 16.5".
Banksy (British, 1974 - ) is an anonymous English-based street artist, political activist, and painter. He combines dark humor with graffiti, all done in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.
