Description
This lot consists of an unframed offset lithograph on paper, done in the contemporary style of street artist Banksy (British, 1974 -). This print was originally commissioned by Greenpeace as part of their 'Save or Delete' campaign to bring awareness to global deforestation. This piece was produced on 100% recycled paper in 2002. Image depicts 5 characters from Disney's 'The Jungle Book', bound and tied and transposed onto a bleak, treeless wasteland. Due to legal threats by Disney, a majority of these prints were destroyed and recycled. This unique surviving piece would make a great addition to any contemporary art collection. Approximate overall dimensions are 16.5" x 23.25".
