Description
A Chinese famille rose square vase dating from the early 19th century. The sides depict figures with inscriptions, and the neck features inscription roundels and a pair of lion head handles holding engaged rings. Dimensions are: 14 3/4 inches tall X 6 1/4 inches wide, 37.5 cm X 15.9 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are areas of repair and overpainting to the mouth and wear to the surface.
Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
