Item Details
Description
A Chinese tall famille rose square vase dating from the late 19th century. One side depicts a crane with a pine tree and pink flowers with a landscape on the neck with fishermen. There are 2 guardian lion heads holding engaged rings on the sides along with poem inscriptions. The other side depicts a bird and flower on the neck and flowers and fruit with scholar's items on the body.

Dimensions are: 17 inches tall X 6 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: Minor wear to the glaze and a few minor chips to the rim, overall good condition.

Provenance: From Mr. Chiu in Ottawa, Canada. Mr. Chiu's mother had an antiques shop in Johannesburg, South Africa from the 1950s to the 1970s and often travelled to Hong Kong to purchase antiques for her shop, as well as her personal collection. These items were purchased during those trips. Lot 249 from our September 19, 2015 auction came from the same collection.
