RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum Album award for Van Halen's For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Released on June 17, 1991, the album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum for two million copies sold on Nov. 8, 1991.

The third Van Halen album with vocalist Sammy Hagar, the release debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. It included singles "Poundcake", "Right Now", and "Top Of The World" along with "Runaround" that received radio airplay as an album track.

Detailed Item Description: This is an original first presentation RIAA award from 1991, making it 29 years old. It is presented to Van Halen's manager Ed Leffler (1936-1993), who in addition to managing VH until his passing worked with Sweet, Petula Clark, The Carpenters, Juice Newton, a solo Sammy Hagar and even PR early in his career for the Beatles.

The award is in VG condition including an original back with Fitzgerald Hartley manufacturer's sticker. There are a few minor mars on the chrome frame and plexiglass and the backing paper has numerous tears but overall this is a great looking award. 

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
