RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum Album award for Hoobastank album The Reason. The album was released on Dec. 9, 2003 and certified 2x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on Aug. 25, 2004 for two million copies sold.

The debut album put the group on the scene with the title track, which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Modern Rock chart. Other singles included "Out of Control", "Same Direction", and "Disappear". The album reached #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and also charted in many other countries.

Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 2004 making it approx. 20 years old. It is presented to a former radio program director. Their name has been obscured only in the photos for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.

This award is in Excellent condition with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass and it also has its' original Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker on its' back.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
