Dimensions: 13-1/2" H x 8-7/8" W
Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Yongzheng tea dust glazed amphora zun vase. The porcelain potted in large vase, thick and tall, globular body, slighty oval body, rounded shoulder concealing gracefully to a prominent straight cylindrical neck, with wide flaring open lip, emerging two auspicious motief flanked on the neck, raised with short splayed foot base rim and slightly concave. Covered overall in olive green under glazed with densely dusted , with attractive green pale toward upper rim on a green pale porcelain body with golden-yellow pickles pattern covered all the vase. The Iridescent Green pale, gilt splashes and streaks characteristic of this glaze are described as yao bian, or transmutation glaze and resulting from transmutation of colloidal copper, iron, or other metallic materials into suffusions breaking up the glaze surface. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, YongZheng Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
