Large scenic early 19th century Massachusetts schoolgirl needlework Shakespeare scene picture of Cymbeline. Silk and gold thread embroidery with watercolor. Produced by Mary Phillips Gardner (1790-1846), pupil at Mrs. Saunders and Miss Beach's Academy for Girls in Dorchester, MA. Schoolgirl needlework art from the academy is highly collected. Good condition with background watercolor losses and staining. Work window measures 16 1/2 in. x 21 1/2 in. Frame measures 25 in. x 30 in. Hill Auction Gallery will not ship.
