Central Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, or Gabon, Teke people (Tio/Bateke), ca. early 20th century CE. A pair of heavy, beautiful brass collars or torcs, each with a thick circular band and wide conical terminals that nearly touch at their tips. From the center of each is a rectangular tab that narrows to a thin edge. Each of these is decorated with shallowly incised lines that create repeated triangular forms. These items were made to be worn by a chief to indicate social status and wealth. Size of one (they are nearly identical): 9.15" W x 10.9" H (23.2 cm x 27.7 cm)

Condition
Both are in great condition with light wear commensurate with age including some very fine scratching on the surface, more visible on one than the other. Both have a rich patina.
