**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan culture, Miccaotli to late Tlamimilolpa Phase, ca. 150 to 350 CE. An intriguing and rare miniature pottery figurine of a seated hunchbacked man playing a massive, curved horn. The figure leans forward as a result of the peaked spinal protrusion along his upper back, rests his left arm on his knee, and supports the horn with his right hand to balance the mouthpiece against his lips. His triangular head is topped with a large, rabbit-eared headdress as well as a circular spool ornament. Faint remains of white pigment are visible across the composition. Size: 1.4" W x 1.6" H (3.6 cm x 4.1 cm)

Minor abrasions to body, limbs, and headdress, with fading to white pigment in scattered areas, and light encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to figural details throughout.
