Description
**Originally Listed At $200**

Western Greece, Archaic Period, ca. 6th to 5th century BCE. A petite mold-made earthenware protome of a female face, probably a goddess, with a slender visage, prominent nose, and full lips. Her wide brow supports a large headdress and frames her entire profile. This example would have been painted with bright colors upon completion. It is perforated through the top of the head for suspension, probably in a personal altar in a home. Size: 3.4" W x 4.1" H (8.6 cm x 10.4 cm); 4.25" H (10.8 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-estate of Roy Green, Birmingham, Alabama acquired before 2015 from major New York galleries
