Description
Circa 1770, Pennsylvania. Signed with early carved initials at the upper side of lower case TR and WE or EM. The piece has a handsome carved broken arch pediment with flame finial flanked by carved torches and flower rosettes leading down to the center top door nicely carved with a fan flanked by two small drawers above seven graduated drawers, all resting atop a very handsome and bold ogee bracket foot. Secondary wood is yellow and white pine mix. Feet are completely original. The crown has had some restoration along with one side of the molding at mid section. H 90" W 43" D 21 1/4" The piece was a part of the collection of White Wing, a home in West Chester Pennsylvania and was owned by Dupont Executive R. Russell Pippin. It is sold from the collection of Mr. Pippins Family.
