John J Pershing was an American Army General who served the United States during the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, and most notably World War I. Following his military career, Pershing published a memoir of his time in World War I entitled “My Experiences in the World War”, published in 1931. This book became one of the most popular books in America and would receive numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize.

This work focuses on Pershing’s command in Germany during the Ludendorff Offensive on the Western Front to the eventual victory in Paris in November of 1918.
